That's why we established Fulcrum, an independent organization dedicated to connecting manufacturing companies with the right technology partners to implement transformative automation and solutions.
Manufacturing companies form a solid economic backbone, but to remain competitive, adopting the right technology is essential. New Zealand possesses the skills and capabilities to support any manufacturer in improving their competitiveness; we just don't do a great job of talking about it. That's where Fulcrum comes in, rapidly validating you're on the right track and instantly connecting you to the technology partners that will make a difference.
Who is behind Fulcrum?
Frank Phillips
Fulcrum was founded and is led by Frank Phillips, who has worked alongside numerous manufacturers and technology partners.
Growing up surrounded by manufacturing, Frank pursued a career in this field. After university, he worked across multiple roles in automotive and aerospace manufacturing environments across Europe, primarily in operations management.
In 2019, Frank moved to New Zealand and applied his extensive knowledge to assist manufacturing clients nationwide. His experience spans diverse industries, from sheep skins to rockets.
In 2020, Frank became the first Certified SIRI (Smart Industry Readiness Index) Assessor in Australasia, developing roadmaps for manufacturers adopting technology across their organizations. This initiative led to the 'Smart Factory Assessment' funded by Callaghan Innovation, resulting in over 120 assessments completed nationwide.
Through his years of operations management and consulting, Frank identified key trends and barriers to progress for manufacturers, which led to the creation of Fulcrum.
