Team Leadership - Workplace Literacy Funding Support
“Doing something about workplace literacy is not about showing people up, it’s about giving them the opportunity and confidence to grow and develop their skills“ As many as 50% of Kiwi workers don’t have the workplace literacy skills needed to function really well in a cutting-edge, technology-based workplace. Equipping your people with the “life skills” to thrive is critical to the success of New Zealand businesses. So, what are we doing about it? The answer is simple – everything we can. Key purpose – To equip supervisors and team leaders with the skills required to lead their teams more effectively in today’s dynamic work environment. Tailored for those in supervisory/team leadership roles, this programme is designed to transform them into leaders, setting a gold standard for behaviour, performance and wellbeing within their teams. Plus, their literacy and numeracy skills are supported and improved throughout, via the engaging, practical programme delivery. Target audience – Those in team leadership or supervisory positions, as well as those preparing to step into such roles. Duration and format - A 56-hr programme delivered in 14 x half-days weekly or 8 x full days fortnightly, in-room workshops over 16 weeks. Up to 10 eligible participants per group. Funding eligibility This programme is supported by funding from the Workplace Literacy Fund. To be eligible to access funding, a participant must: 1. Be a New Zealand resident 2. Meet the criteria for low literacy (determined by a pre-assessment covering workplace reading, numeracy, writing and speaking and listening).
