Data Warehouse/Lake, Unified Name Space & Data engineering

Rubbish in, rubbish out. Low quality, incomplete or inconsistently available data erodes trust and reduces the opportunity to get genuine business value from data you already have but can't harness, or data you have yet to capture or acquire. Data engineering is where the data 'plumbing' takes place. These are the tasks associated with automating data loads, cleaning data, building and organising databases and making sure all the data is tidy. Clean and well organised data can be easily used for reporting, analysis or advanced analytics - from one or many of a Data Lake, Warehouse or Unified Name Space (UNS) for a single source of the truth as its happening on the factory floor. Litmus streamlines your data processes by designing robust data architectures, ensuring seamless integration, and optimising storage solutions. Our services include data pipeline development, data governance, data warehouse management, data processing and automation. With an emphasis on data security, scalability, and compliance, we help businesses unlock the full potential of their data assets. Data comes from many sources, and for all types of businesses. From financial or inventory systems, customer relationship systems, live processes, SCADA and geospatial, suppliers, IoT, ... the list goes on. Organisations harnessing their data have a distinct advantage.

Client Testimonial Quote & Job Title

Getting our data into one place has always been a challenge. We had operations data in our ERP, timesheet / jobbing data in a separate HR app, financial data in our accounting package, and customer data in the CRM. We originally thought we needed to get all this data loaded into our ERP, but that was going to be a challenging and expensive exercise. Litmus worked with us to plan the most pragmatic approach to getting our data into one place and building the visualisations in PowerBI; this involved using our existing SQL environment with the Litmus team building the data plumbing required to get all these datasets loading regularly. Having all our mission critical data centralised made it possible to build our first data asset the Argus operational monitoring tool. This tool took all our core datasets and created a series of good-looking dashboards that provided team leaders with an early warning of potential work order issues. This was the first time we could easily see labour volumes down to the work order level a super important and powerful insight that is presented on TV screens on the factory floor. This means we can make rapid intra-day adjustments to how we are running our factory a great example of how using data is impowering us to be a more effective organisation.
