Innovation Grants - General Overview
New Zealand’s manufacturers are at the heart of driving innovation and economic growth, yet many struggle to access the large government grants designed to support transformative projects. The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI), Ministry for the Environment (MfE), the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) and Callaghan Innovation's Arohia Trailblazer Grant all have large and active co-funding pools available for businesses with compelling projects that align with New Zealand's economic, environmental, social and cultural policy objectives. Here's a bit more detail about each of the funds: MPI - Sustainable Food and Fibre Futures Fund: Supports problem-solving and innovation in New Zealand’s food and fibre sector by co-investing in initiatives that make a positive and lasting difference MfE - Waste Minimisation Fund: Is focused on accelerating Aotearoa New Zealand’s transition towards a low emissions and low waste circular economy. EECA - Low Emission Transport Fund: Supports the demonstration of high potential and replicable low-emissions solutions in the transport sector and aims to drive the uptake of low-emissions transport technology, innovation and infrastructure. Callaghan Innovation: Arohia Trailblazer Grant - Is designed to support businesses that are benefiting the Aotearoa New Zealand innovation ecosystem. It's for the game-changers, to take those vital final steps to market, and keep creating opportunities for other innovators in Aotearoa.
